History of Vietnamese Tea
Tea and Vietnamese are the same thing. Their ancient friendship dates back to the 13th and 15th centuries. This can be attributed to the fact that Vietnam is the oldest tea-growing country in the world, and it is increasingly known that tea is the only beverage. This was before people thought of barley and coffee. Even so, the tea-Vietnam relationship is deeply ingrained in the culture and won't end anytime soon.
Types of Vietnamese tea
Not everyone grows the same type of tea. Tayethic community grows cum tea, other varieties like che moc, cau, che man, che chi to name a few are also grown by other communities. The way they prepare tea also varies from community to community. They also prepare it in a very interesting way. Every time tea is brewed, it has to be brewed with a specific flower. Take the cheetah for example; it has to be prepared with chrysanthemum, che bup from hyssop and good quality che min from lotus or jasmine. Vietnamese take this very seriously. They can almost flavor their tea.

Reasons Vietnamese drink tea for many reasons. Some reasons are obvious, some are complicated; unless you come from their culture, you won't understand. How could you possibly explain why sharing a cup of tea with someone you have a relationship with automatically pays off? Tea is a must for every occasion to complete it. Whether it's a wedding, an anniversary, a graduation, etc., tea is the first staple ingredient. They do believe that when you drink tea while reading, it's a therapy that makes you forget about life's troubles. They also drink tea to cleanse themselves. They see it as a source of spiritual purity. Sometimes in the hot season, the bitter-sweet taste of their tea reduces the calories. Their tea is also considered medicinal as it treats stomach pains.
When do Vietnamese drink tea
, every time is afternoon tea time! Whether it is morning, noon, evening, or even late at night, people still drink tea. Every home you visit must serve you tea as a sign of hospitality. Tea can be found everywhere; at home, in restaurants, on the road, even in bars. No joke!
Importance of tea
Besides bringing income to farmers and the country through exports, tea in Vietnam is also used to build social bonds. It builds friendships and is popular even for serious activities like closing business deals. In the countryside, neighbors can invite each other for a cup of tea to promote good neighborly friendship. Tea is known to turn strangers into good friends. It has a silent importance when you watch them drink tea. It preserves their culture and makes it stronger by preventing any other drink/behavior than drinking tea. It binds them so closely that if they cheer over a cup of tea, nothing in the world can separate them.
It also shapes the future of society. It is believed that drinking tea can enhance one's character simply by observing table manners while drinking tea. Angry people use it to calm themselves rather than opt for other drugs, such as alcohol.

The trend of tea houses has increased recently, with no signs of disappearing anytime soon. These unique shops are built in a way that depicts their heritage and serve as the perfect retreat for just tea. People can choose from a variety of teas on offer, and people are encouraged to talk about tea.
Another notable thing is that it took them a long time to brand the tea leaves. But that's because their government has yet to address many potential challenges. If this continues, with fierce competition from other countries, Vietnamese may be forced to drink only their own tea.
