1. Boil water
Pour fresh cold water into the kettle and bring to a boil. Fresh water that meets drinking standards contains air, which can bring out the aroma of black tea, while overnight water, aged water or hot water in a thermos is not suitable for brewing black tea.
2. Keep the water temperature stable
Pour boiling water into the teapot and cups to increase the temperature of the teapot and cups. This helps to bring out the aroma of black tea. To avoid excessive changes in water temperature, it should be done gradually.
3. Tea amount
For a strong brew, one person needs 1 teaspoon of tea (about 2.5 grams of tea). But if you want to brew good black tea, it is recommended to brew two cups at a time to give full play to the flavor of black tea and enjoy the pleasure of refilling.
4. Make tea
Pour boiling water into a pot with tea. Generally, after the water is boiled for about 30 seconds, a circle the size of a coin will form, which is the best time to brew black tea.
5. Brewing time
The concentration of tea leaves is usually marked on the tea container, and the length of brewing time can be determined according to the concentration. Concentrations ranged from 1 to 4, with corresponding time ranges from 2 minutes to 3.5 minutes.
6 soup
Pour the brewed tea soup into your favorite tea cup. It is best to choose a cup with a shallow bottom and a wide mouth, so that you can fully enjoy the aroma of black tea and appreciate its charming color.
7. Modulation
You can add some sugar or milk to your taste. Tea usually has a strong taste and astringency. But with the addition of thick milk, the astringency is reduced and the taste is more intense.
Tips for making tea
1. Tea set
Commonly used tea sets in China include pottery (mainly purple sand ware), glass, plastic and so on. For black tea, we usually choose milky white porcelain to ensure better color, aroma and smooth taste.
2. Water
For brewing black tea, "soft water" with low calcium and magnesium content is better. Spring water is the best (it contains the fewest calcium and magnesium compounds and many minerals needed by the body), followed by purified water.
3. Tea amount
The amount of tea should be proportional to the size of the container (covered bowl), the characteristics of the tea, the number of guests, and the preferences of the guests. In general, tea should fill one-third of the container, but no more than half. If the tea is tender, add more tea leaves to the cup.
4. Water volume
The amount of water should always be greater than the amount of tea. If you find that the tea taste is weak, you should add more tea leaves; if it is too strong, you should add more water.
