The Orgin of tea bags

It is said that tea bags were invented to save money.

In 1908, Thomas Sullivan, a tea merchant in New York, used silk bags instead of tin cans to save on the cost of transporting tea. Not only was it lighter in weight, but the material was also cheaper!

He originally thought that the customer would open the silk bag and make tea as usual.  As a result, the other party didn't even open it and threw the bag into the water!

However, some people also suggest that tea bags were born in Wisconsin as early as 1901, seven years ago. The two ladies (Roberta C. Rosen and Mary Moralen) despised the traditional tea brewing method for wasting time and making it very complex. They made small bags with cotton cloth and placed a small pinch of tea leaves inside, soaking them directly in hot water, saving the trouble of filtering. In 1903, their invention of "tea tray" was patented.

However, it must be acknowledged that Sullivan's actions have taken a significant step forward in the user experience of drinking tea.

Anyway, in that era, when people were struggling with the two things of "filtering is troublesome" and "being full of tea residue is annoying", this ubiquitous tea bag was simply a gospel of the new century!
