The types of Tea Trees
From two aspects
1. According to classification, they belong to four families:
- Five Treasure Tea Series: Guangxi tea, Dabao tea, Guangnan tea, Wushi tea, Shuchi tea;
- Five pillar tea series: thick axis tea, five pillar tea, old black tea, Dali tea, Yunnan Myanmar tea, Yuanji tea, wrinkled leaf tea, Maguan tea, Hani tea, multi petal tea;
- Tufang tea series: Mengla tea, Dehong tea, Tuli tea, Mixixie tea, Pseudo Tufang tea, Rongjiang tea, Ziguo tea, Duomai tea;
- Tea family: tea, bitter tea (variety), baimao tea (variety), Pu'er tea, multi calyx tea, quasi fine calyx tea, Yuanjiang tea, Gaoshu tea.
2. Tea tree varieties are mainly divided into two categories: population varieties and clonal varieties.
- Group varieties include: Mengku big leaf tea, Menghai big leaf tea, Fengqing big leaf tea (above are national varieties), Yuanjiangnuo tea, Yangta big white tea, Zhenyuan stirrup tea, Lvchunmayu tea, Shoushui big leaf tea, Icelandic big leaf tea, Bazi white hair tea, Yunlong Mountain big leaf tea, Jinggu big leaf tea, Tuantan big leaf tea, Bangdong big leaf tea, Guanzhai tea, Dachang tea, Lancang big leaf tea, etc.
- Clonal variety: It is the offspring of Yunnan large leaf variety selected through asexual reproduction. Mainly including Yunkang 43 and Changye Baihao; Yunkang No.1O and Yunkang No.14; Yunmei, Yungui, Aifeng, etc; Yunxuan 9 and Yunkang 37 are both descendants of the Menghai species
